Amazon now lets Prime members add items to completed orders MrezaMkOctober 3, 2025027 views Following limited testing, Amazon’s Add to Delivery feature is coming to US Prime members. | Image: Amazon Amazon has announced a new shopping feature for US Prime members called Add to Delivery that lets you add additional items to completed orders that have yet to be delivered, instead of having to create an entirely new order. The feature is only available on Amazon’s app and on Amazon.com when accessed on mobile devices, and is limited to eligible items that include electronics, clothing, books, and grocery items. The feature has been tested with some Prime members for a while, but is now seeing a broader rollout. Figuring out what items are eligible seems simple enough. Strava sues Garmin over alleged patent infringement MrezaMkOctober 3, 2025029 views Strava is suing its long-time partner Garmin, and is seeking to permanently block the company from selling most of its current fitness and cycling gadget lineup. The lawsuit filed in the US District Court of Colorado on September 30th, first reported by DC Rainmaker, alleges that Garmin violated an agreement between the companies by infringing on Strava’s patents for segments — route sections where athletes can compare performance times — and heatmaps that show popular areas for activity. Strava is seeking a permanent injunction to prohibit Garmin from selling or offering any products that provide segments or heat mapping features, arguing that “monetary relief alone is inadequate.” Those demands target Garmin’s Connect fitness tracking platform and the majority of Garmin’s devices, including Edge bike computers, and Forerunner, Fenix, and Epix watches. The lawsuit is surprising, given that these are two of the most recognizable brands in fitness tech and share .. Read more
Google is destroying independent websites, and one sees no choice but to defend it anyway MrezaMkOctober 3, 2025020 views To WikiHow, Google is both tormentor and savior. And on Wednesday, as the search giant mounted its defense in the ongoing ad tech remedies trial, the how-to site came to Google’s rescue. WikiHow CEO Elizabeth Douglas described to a court how websites like hers are the middle of an “AI apocalypse.” WikiHow, a website that gives step-by-step practical advice, is suffering from a new paradigm shift in how people find information online. Ring’s new Search Party feature is on by default; should you opt out? MrezaMkOctober 3, 2025027 views This week, Ring, an Amazon-owned smart security company, announced Search Party, a new feature to help find lost dogs. When someone posts a picture of a lost dog on Ring’s Neighbors app, they will be able to initiate a Search Party. Ring then uses AI to scan footage from nearby outdoor Ring cameras and doorbells for the lost pet. If it’s detected via someone else’s device, that camera’s owner will receive a notification and can choose to share the video with the pet owner. I should be able to choose whether my footage is being searched It’s a great use of AI and has the potential to track down missing pets a lot faster than social media posts or text message chains. This is because it (almost) cuts out the middleman — you. Rather than relying on you to see a message about a missing dog, look at a picture or read through the description of the dog, and then go check your camera feeds to see if it ran by your house, all of that happens in the background. “Your Ring AI.. Shein is opening its first physical stores MrezaMkOctober 3, 2025025 views Shein has announced plans to open its first physical locations in France this November, even as the country works on legislation to regulate the fast-fashion industry, as reported by Euronewsand Reuters. The online retailer, which manufactures most of its ultra-cheap clothing in China, will open locations inside department stores across Dijon, Grenoble, Reims, Limoges, and Angers through a partnership with real estate company Société des Grands Magasins (SGM). Until now, Shein has only operated online, aside from the pop-up stores that have appeared in locations like New York City. Its decision to open up stores in France comes just months after the French Senate approved a law that would impose a tax on fast-fashion companies like Shein and Temu based on their environmental impact, as well as ban them from advertising. Shein also faces regulations as a “very large online platform” under the European Union’s framework to rein in big tech, and it was recently hit with a $176 million fi.. Read more
